Eagle-Eyed Viewers Spot Ghostly Apparitions In New James May Amazon Series

Viewers of James May’s new Amazon Prime series James May: Our Man In Italy, quickly took to social media after spotting several ghostly apparitions in the background in various scenes, whilst the former Top Gear presenter was doing his pieces to camera.

One of the first people to notice one of the ghostly figures was TikTok user, deejaybrooksie. The viewer posted: “Just been watching James May’s new program Our Man in Italy on Amazon Prime and we spotted this in the background.”

May was in Pompeii in Episode 2. In one of the scenes he was explaining about a mass grave site that he was standing on, as he was doing so a ghostly apparition is seen walking in the background of the shot.

@deejaybrooksie Just been watching James May’s new program “Our man in Italy” on Amazon Prime and we spotted this in the background 👻 #jamesmay #ghostsighting #unexplained #walkingdead #Pompeii ♬ original sound – DeejayBrooksie

In Episode 3, May was standing by a lake in Rome, again doing a piece to camera, when yet another apparition is spotted walking by in the background of shot. Watch the clip of the ghostly figure below.

James May soon took to Twitter to address the ghostly figure seen specifically in Episode 3 on the show.

My thanks to everyone who has pointed out the ‘ghost’ in ep3 of my new Italy series. Nobody saw it at the time, so it’s either a real ghost or (more likely but also more boring) just a bit of digital file corruption.

Then, in Episode 4 when May was exploring Florence he was in an underground car park, again doing another piece to camera. As he was reaching in to his car for a portrait painting, another ghostly figure is seen walking by the parked cars in the background.

Did anyone else spot this one jn the car park? Looks like a Roman. pic.twitter.com/bI9uZAAucI

Whilst many viewers are going along with the fact James May, may have well captured something paranormal on more than three occassions. Some viewers believe it’s something to do with ‘an editor having a giggle or a clever marketing strategy to generate social media buzz. Fun little easter egg.’ – Whatever is going on, its certainly captured global social media attention.

Is James May turning into a seasoned paranormal investigator or could it just be some explainable ‘file corruption’ – What are your thoughts on the clips?

James May: Our Man In Italy, all episodes are available to stream now on Amazon Prime Video.
