My Haunted Hotel: The Grace Doll special episode will focus on one of Britain’s most haunted items.
Ye Olde Kings Head, built in 1622 on Lower Bridge Street, Chester, England is a 17th century pub/hotel believed to be home to more than 13 spirits (and no, not just the one’s behind the bar). It is said to be haunted by the tormented souls of civil war soldiers, young children and even reported apparitions of women who worked there when it was a brothel in the 1600s.
The hotel was bought by paranormal enthusiast Harry Achilleos 15 years ago and he has dreamt of turning it into a top tourist destination, due to it’s spooky reputation and in the spring of this year Harry was joined by paranormal investigator Danny Moss from TVs The Haunted Hunts and team member Brett Jones, to launch My Haunted Hotel at Ye Olde Kings Head.

The pub/hotel was recently voted in the top ‘100 Most Haunted Places in the UK’ and has been transformed into a 24/7 monitored paranormal hub. Open to the public, paranormal enthusiasts are invited to spend the night at one of the most haunted and oldest building’s in the country. Not only that, guests are able to take part in ghost hunting ‘challenges’ and ‘experiments’ as all of the rooms are rigged with cameras and trigger objects, setup to document any paranormal activity that happens.
The footage that is captured on the many cameras situated around the building, along with documentary-style interviews and eye-witness accounts of the paranormal phenomena are released on a weekly basis on the My Haunted Hotel official YouTube channel.
And now in a special episode that is being released this Friday on the channel, the team investigate an object that has recently made Ye Olde Kings Head its new home. “Grace The Doll” is said to be Britain’s most haunted item and has been widely compared to the famous Anabelle doll which has been the subject to a series of global horror films.
Grace is believed to be possessed by a spirit of a witch from the 1600s, which attached itself to the doll at Nantclwyd y Dre, a Grade 1 listed timbered town house in Ruthin, Wales. Danny previously documented paranormal activity with the doll at its former home at Tatton Old Hall in Cheshire. Where on a public investigation alongside The Haunted Hunts team an EVP was captured, believed to be coming from the doll that says “burn”. Danny then asks the doll “What do you want to burn?” And the doll chillingly responds with “your eyes”.
